Position title: Technical Services Coordinator
Reports to: CEO and direct supervisor
Collaborates with: CEO, Program & Outreach Coordinator and Public Services Librarian
Position Summary: The Technical Services Coordinator is a key staff member who catalogs library materials and oversees and processes library materials and repairs. They ensure smooth order placement and cancellations of library materials. They provide computer assistance to library patrons and staff and are responsible for duties related to the maintenance of public access computers, electronic resources, Integrated Library System (ILS), library website, and social media (involving the marketing of the collection). This team member also assists with the interlibrary loan process, collections development and outreach to older adults when necessary and may supervise one employee and/or volunteers to assist with the above-listed tasks.
Abilities and Skills
Ability to learn the library’s ILS and OCLC cataloging functions; ability to work in a team environment where consultation, flexibility, creativity, collaboration and cooperation are essential; ability to organize tasks and meet deadlines; excellent customer service skills; good writing and report skills; demonstrated flexibility and initiative; working knowledge of common computer applications.
Job Description, primary tasks:
Rapidly changing environment. Requires working most or all Saturdays and some evenings. May be required to work more than 8 hours a day. Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Permanent, full time, 30 hours/week. We offer comprehensive benefits, a pension and support for professional development. The rate is $20.55/hr (2020 rate).
