Job Summary

Library Technician Full-time Permanent Position

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) Clinical Library, Regina location, invites applications for a full-time permanent Library Technician position from individuals who are looking to work in an exciting and progressive organization. The successful applicant will join a dynamic award-winning team providing library services across the provincial Saskatchewan Health Authority.

The SHA Clinical Library provides access to approximately 1,200 electronic books, 26,000 plus full-text journals and a core suite of electronic databases. The majority of services are provided virtually through the SHA Clinical Library’s website. Additional services are provided at staffed physical locations in Regina at the Regina General Hospital, Pasqua Hospital and the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Knowledge Management & Library Services, the Library Technician will work as part of a team delivering information services to a variety of health care professionals and a broad range of students and physicians from across the Health Authority.  The Library Technician will work within Insignia, the Clinical Library’s new cloud-based system.  Extensive work in LibGuides and DB/Textworks is involved.  Duties may include processing interlibrary loans, performing document delivery, updating the Library’s website, distributing current awareness services, upkeep of physical libraries, customer service and basic client support, daily library system/resource/mobile, and equipment troubleshooting, processing invoices for payment, and all related record-keeping and documentation.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Library and Information Technology Diploma

  • Superior interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work, adapt to changing workloads with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently

Compensation

$22.60 to $24.21 per hour
