 Partnership: The Canadian Journal of Library & Information Practice & Research

Partnership is accepting applications for the position of PRODUCTION EDITOR. This is a volunteer position with a 3-year term (renewable).

Responsibilities

The production editor would be responsible for:

• Managing submissions through the production phase, this includes:

• • Assigning copyeditors, layout editors, and proofreaders

• • Liaising with the translator for French abstracts and keywords

• • Ensuring task assignments are distributed equally amongst the production team

• • Set production schedule timelines and work with the editorial team to ensure the timelines are met in coordination with editor-in-chief

• • Review the final copy of submissions to check metadata accuracy

• • Liaise with layout editors on manuscript information

• • Communicate and consult with editor-in-chief as needed

Qualifications

• Applicants will demonstrate the ability to work in a highly collaborative virtual environment with a team of volunteers.
• Strong written communication skills are imperative.
• Experience with Open Journal Systems is an asset.
• Ability to communicate in writing in French is an asset.
