Job Summary
The Laurentian University Library and Archives invites applications from innovative and creative individuals for a part-time (sessional) librarian faculty position (Fall 2025 - Winter 2026). This position entails 3 credits (126 hours) of professional librarian work distributed over the stated period, thus an average of approximately 10 hours of work per week. If required, the duties and tasks of this position can be performed entirely remotely and online. The preferred start date is November 24, 2025 or as negotiated.
Working as part of a team of librarians, the E-Learning Librarian will:
- Update the library Research Skills Tutorials in English
- Create interactive exercises and enhance the Research Skills Tutorial based on best practices in librarianship.
The successful candidate must have:
- A Master’s degree in Library/Information Studies from an ALA-accredited program
- Comfort with using related software and technologies: video editing software, online learning platforms (ex: Brightspace).
- An understanding of effective pedagogical strategies.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English are required. French language skills would be considered an asset.
Previous academic library experience, preferably two years, will be an asset.
Compensation
$6,900 or commensurate with experience
