The Town of Huntsville is located two hours north of Toronto in beautiful Muskoka cottage country. Huntsville, with a population approaching 20,000, is the largest community in the District of Muskoka and is a vibrant and dynamic community in which to live, work and play.
Huntsville Public Library is accepting resumes for a Community Engagement Coordinator. Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Community Engagement Coordinator works as part of Huntsville Public Library’s (HPL) lead team to ensure the effective, efficient and coordinated delivery of services to users in support of HPL’s mission, vision and strategic plan.
The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the planning and development of adult programming and outreach; planning and development of a volunteer network, including implementation and evaluation in accordance with Board policy and coordination with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), as well as community engagement and communication through both traditional and evolving media while overseeing the library’s social media and marketing.
The ideal candidate will have a college diploma or university degree in a relevant area and have at least two (2) years of relevant experience in a similar public service setting. You must have knowledge of community engagement practices, possess excellent English communication skills, which include oral and written, public speaking presentation skills, and social media marketing skills, and have a keen interest in providing adults in our community with the opportunity to learn and have fun. Excellent working knowledge and experience with technologies and software, as well as a valid Class “G” driver’s license with the ability to travel within the Municipality of the Town of Huntsville, are required.
The hourly wage for this position is $35.44 to $39.07 based on a 35-hour work week.
