
Job Summary
The Alberta Beach Municipal Library, located in the Village of Alberta Beach, is hiring for the position of a Library and Program Assistant. The successful candidate will preferably have a Library Technician diploma or be in the process of achieving one. Comparable training or experience will be considered.
At Alberta Beach Municipal Library, serving the community is at the core. The Library Board is looking for a Library and Program Assistant who will engage with the community and collaborate with the Manager, staff, and volunteers for the achievement of the goals established by the Board. The role includes supporting the Library Manager in carrying out regular library functions as well as assisting in the planning and running of library programs.
The Library and Program Assistant must be able to manage with minimal supervision in a flexible environment. Competencies and experience include:
- Friendly customer service and people skills
- Experience planning and running programs for all ages
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize effectively
- Comfortable working independently, sometimes unsupervised, and as a team player
- Confidence to be creative, try new things, and think outside the box
- Punctual and reliable
- A love for libraries
This is a part-time, permanent position at 14 hours per week, including evenings and Saturdays.
Compensation begins at $17.00 per hour.
