As a valued member of our team, reporting directly to the Supervisor, Index and Reference, you will collaborate closely with a dynamic group of Index and Reference professionals.

What You’ll Do

You’ll act with integrity to:

  • Provide reference services and index the official reports of debates (Hansard) of the Legislative Assembly, its committees and other House publications
  • Demonstrate the utmost tact, diplomacy and confidentiality in a politically-sensitive environment

You’ll support our collaboration as you:

  • Index the official reports of the debates of the Ontario Legislature, its Standing Committees and related House publications and make them accessible in print and digital formats
  • Provide research services to internal and external clients
  • Create content for, and manage, the Branch’s intranet site
  • Research and implement new and emerging methods for electronic indexing and digital information management

How You Qualify

You demonstrate excellence through your:

  • Completion of master’s degree in library and information science
  • IT skills to perform electronic indexing, digital publishing, and web-based activities and work with the Branch’s content management system (CMS)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of theory, standards, and practical applications of indexing, taxonomies, or controlled vocabularies
  • Proven ability to multitask and organize work to meet competing deadlines, and sound knowledge of reference methods and resources
  • Interest in current affairs, and knowledge of the legislative process
