Role

This position reports to and is accountable to a Coordinator, Service Delivery and is responsible to lead and deliver branch-based operations, including providing branch-based leadership of Delivering Patron-Centred Customer Service and ensuring the consistent application of library policies and procedures.

In collaboration with Librarians, Coordinators and other library staff, assist in implementing programs, services and special events to promote use of the library branch. Actively collaborates with other Branch Supervisors and participates in various committees.

Education and Experience

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Completed a 2-year diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution in a related field (e.g. general studies, business, communications). A minimum of two (2) related years of experience providing customer service or delivering services to the general public.
  • One (1) year experience supervising and training employees.
  • Experience working in a unionized library environment is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered, including Grade 12 education and four years of related experience or related supervisory experience such as leading project teams or supervising volunteers.
