Richmond Public Library is currently recruiting a Librarian I position who will be eager to work in a demanding, high-paced public library environment. Our staff are committed to building a stronger, more knowledgeable and connected community. Where people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures are welcomed and respected. Shifts will include evenings and weekends.

To ensure success in delivering our service model to a diverse community you have:

  • A Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA Accredited program, or equivalent
  • Enthusiasm for actively building new relationships with community
  • Demonstrated experience in program planning and delivery
  • Provides remarkable customer service, both externally to community members and internally to colleagues; either by in person, by phone, online and in an efficient and effective manner
  • Flexibility to adapt to a changing and innovative work environment as well as flexibility to work across the library system
  • Resiliency and adaptability with the ability to think quickly and resolve customer issues or difficult situations. Persons in Charge responsibilities are required
  • Committed to ongoing learning
  • The ability to work independently
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends

Compensation
