Coast Mountain College, Smithers Campus, invites applications for a College Librarian. This is a 70% continuing position starting September 1, 2019. Salary will be in accordance with the CUPE Instructor Salary Scale.

Duties: Based at the Smithers campus, the Librarian will be responsible for the delivery of digital and information literacy to students in all programs on the campus as well as the supervision of staff, collection development, and reference services.

Tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Plan and implement a digital and informational program that supports students, courses, and programs
  • Lead the campus library in Smithers including supervision of staff, collection development, and budgeting
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure programs, courses, and students have the required library support services
  • Assess student learning needs and create plans to support them
  • Provide reference, information literacy, and digital literacy services to staff and students
  • Participate in library projects, planning, and development
  • Represent CMTN Library at professional meetings and conferences as required

Qualifications: A Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent education from an ALA accredited institution.
