What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Director of Library Services, the Programming & Community Engagement Supervisor is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating innovative services, programs, volunteer initiatives, and community partnerships. This role empowers staff through leadership and collaboration, to achieve departmental goals and deliver impactful Library services. As a key member of the Library Leadership Team, the Supervisor contributes professional expertise to strategic planning and decision-making for the department and ensures library services are responsive to the diverse needs of the community.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
- Master's degree in library and information services from an ALA accredited school
- Three years of previous experience, preferably in a County library system
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven ability to supervise and manage in a unionized environment
- Experience with coaching and employee development
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Demonstrated capacity for service planning and problem solving
- Able to plan, organize, develop and implement goals, objectives, and policies
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Skilled in implementing and communicating change effectively, fostering adaptability among staff and community partners
- Exceptional presentation and public speaking abilities with the ability to engage diverse community groups
What We Offer
- Competitive Salary: $79,771 to $93,839 per annum
