Job Posting: Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Brock Township Public Library

The Brock Township Public Library Board welcomes applications for the position of Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Position Statement:
Reports to: The Brock Township Public Library Board
Salary Range: $125,985 - $147,385
Working Hours: 35 hours per week
Anticipated Start Date: Monday May 25, 2026 or as early as availability allows. This is an interim position for a minimum 6 months duration, with a possibility of extension.

Through its three branches, the Brock Township Public Libraries serves a rural community of approximately 13,000 people in the north of Durham Region. The Library Board welcomes applications for the position of Interim CEO. Reporting to the Board, under the authority of the Ontario’s Public Libraries Act, the successful Interim CEO will be a leader for the Library team. They will provide direction, leadership as well as operational management. The Interim CEO has an understanding of the community and its needs, and leads the library in a direction that improves the quality of life for Brock Township residents.

Requirements
A successful candidate will have a Masters degree of Library Science or equivalent, with extensive experience in librarianship, demonstrated skill in librarianship, management, leadership and problem solving. We seek someone with experience in working with a unionized staff, progressive responsibility within a public library and a minimum of 8 years within the public library system.
