
Job Summary
Public Library InterLINK is looking for a responsible driver with an attention to detail to sort and deliver books and materials to public libraries across the Lower Mainland.

Duties:
Sorts, packs, and loads books and related library material, equipment, and supplies. Drives and delivers books, materials, equipment, and supplies to and between member libraries and other locations on a predetermined route. Performs and/or oversees routine maintenance of delivery truck. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person (under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act) legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Completion of the 12th school grade.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Large delivery van/truck or related driving experience.
- Ability to safely lift / maneuver heavy items (50lbs +).
- Capable of performing tasks under minimal supervision.
- Skilled in maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
- Valid B.C. drivers license (Class 5) and an acceptable driving record.
Salary:
$29.83 per hour (step 1 of 5, subject to COLA increases). A full benefits package, including membership in the BC Municipal Pension Plan, is also provided after mandatory probationary period
Hours:
Approximately 70 hours biweekly. Shift starts early (5:45 – 6:00 am).
There is a bi-weekly flex schedule:
Week 1: Monday - Friday
Week 2: Monday - Thursday
Flex schedule may be subject to occasional changes due to relief driver illness or vacation.
