South Shore Public Libraries is seeking a dynamic, community-driven leader to serve as the Community Hub Coordinator at our new location in Cookville – a vibrant, multi-use facility designed to bring people together, foster connection, and expand access.
About the Space
This is a new kind of library space – one that complements our regional system while offering something different. Instead of shelves of books, you’ll find flexible, shared spaces where people can gather, explore technology, learn new skills, and connect with one another.
About the Role
The Hub Coordinator is the on-site leader and ambassador for this new model of library service. You’ll oversee daily operations, cultivate partnerships, and ensure the space reflects and responds to the evolving needs of the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Hub
- Coordinate scheduling, space bookings and support community use
- Plan and deliver programs for a range of audiences
- Provide tech support and troubleshooting
- Manage access to the regional collection through a holds pickup locker
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible environment

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Minimum of three years experience in a customer service capacity, preferably in a leader role
• Experience in program coordination, community engagement, or public service an asset
Details
• Hours: 35 hours a week, including evenings and weekends
• Wage: $31.66–$37.04/hour (effective April 1, 2026)
• Location: shifts conducted in person at the Community Hub, Cookville, NS
