What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Lead Branch Supervisor, the Assistant Branch Supervisor assists with ensuring the smooth operation of one or more Library Branches through customer service, circulation functions, coordination of Branch programming with staff as well as direct implementation of programs and community outreach. The position involves a great deal of multitasking, organizational skills, and the ability to make decisions quickly and decisively. The incumbent assists the Supervisor as needed, and in the absence of the Supervisor, undertakes supervisory duties.
Contract Duration: June 2025 to December 31, 2025
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
- Two-year post-secondary diploma in Library Sciences or a related field
- One year of previous experience in a unionized library, including working with children and adults
Skills & Abilities
- Advanced computer skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent writing skills, including proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies
- Valid Class G Driver’s License
- Current First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset
What We Offer
- Competitive Salary: $35.58 - $41.86 per hour
- Hours per week: 30
- Percentage in lieu of benefits
