About the Job

The Summer Outreach Student supports summer outreach and programming at Bruce County Public Library under the direction of the Assistant Branch Supervisor – Bookmobile. This position presents programming and promotes and provides library services at events throughout Bruce County, including on days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Summer Outreach Student is a support to the Assistant Branch Supervisor – Bookmobile and rides along in the vehicle to promote and provide programming and services.

Location: Port Elgin ON

Start Date: This role is anticipated to start May 6, 2024 and go until August 24, 2024

Status: Summer Student

Salary: $17.05 Per Hour + 4% Vacation in Lieu

Hours: Based on a 35-hour work week. Evening and Weekend work may be required

Requirements: To be eligible you must meet the requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs grant.

One year post-secondary education completed

Experience planning, promoting, and presenting programs

Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and listening skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong customer service skills

Valid Ontario Driver’s license
