The Senior Library Technician is responsible for the daily operation and library technician staff of the Saskatoon Theological Union amalgamated library, located at St. Andrew’s College, which includes the collections of St. Andrew’s College, the College of Emmanuel and St. Chad, and the Lutheran Theological Seminary.The Senior Library Technician coordinates workflow of the Library and is responsible for its efficient and effective operation, ensuring that patrons receive high quality, customer-focused service.
The Senior Library Technician will exercise leadership in managing and supervising technical and volunteer staff; developing and presenting user education materials and sessions; planning and managing the collection; coordinating print and electronic resource acquisitions; cataloguing and patron database maintenance and overseeing administrative processes including budgeting, reporting and marketing. This position is expected to advance and participate in the implementation of new services or service changes within the Library in cooperation with technicians and faculty as appropriate.
This is a senior position requiring the maturity and expertise to make decisions; take on a variety of responsibilities in a time efficient manner; establish and maintain positive relationships with administrators, faculty, colleagues, and students; work both independently and as part of a team; and lead, model and deliver consistent, high quality customer-centered service.A recognized post-secondary Library Technician Diploma is required with experience working in a Library as a technician cataloguing collection materials.Excellence in communication and interpersonal skills must be demonstrated.

The Saskatoon Theological Union (STU) is an association of three theological education colleges: the College of Emmanuel & St. Chad (Anglican Church of Canada), Lutheran Theological Seminary Saskatoon (Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada), and St. Andrew's College (United Church of Canada). All three colleges are affiliated with the University of Saskatchewan. While remaining distinct and separate institutions, the three member colleges share numerous resources, including their libraries.
This is a permanent position consisting of 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday).The salary scale is from $46,624.30 - $60,834.14 per year and the positon offers a generous health and benefit plan.
