Greater Victoria Public Library (GVPL) is an innovative library system with one of the highest per capita usage rates in Canada. Serving more than 320,000 residents in the Greater Victoria area, we provide library service to 10 municipalities.

GVPL is a community inspired library. GVPL is committed to an integrated, system-wide and strategic district service model. GVPL’s portfolio delivery model identifies service priorities and provides guidelines for service levels, guided by our Strategic plan, vision, mission and values. Under the guidance of a public services coordinator team, and in collaboration with other departments, public services librarians are responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of community-inspired library service.

We are currently looking for a regular part-time public services librarian for the Saanich and Peninsula District with the following portfolio:

Public Services Librarian – Adult, Seniors & All Ages (21 hours/week)
This position is responsible for delivering public service in the branch as well as supporting early literacy skills for teens, adults and seniors. This part-time position is responsible for providing branch-based leadership and is responsible for all aspects of their portfolio area in the greater context of library service.
