Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must be able to travel within the province with possible overnight stays
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence



  • Completion of a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science.An equivalent of education and experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Indigenous people and culture.
  • Experience in a leadership role within a library environment.
  • Experience developing, planning and presenting training sessions.
  • Knowledge of public library governance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of social trends and issues affecting public libraries in Indigenous communities, including remote locations.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Good problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong written communication skills.


  • Experience with research, program and project evaluation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of library technology applications, protocols and systems


This position will also carry out a full range of professional consulting work related to developing and implementing library programs and services. Researching and writing reports, conducting analyses and developing and implementing program plans and projects will be required.
