
Job Summary
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Under the administrative direction of the Library Board and Chief Executive Officer / Director of Library Services, the Manager of Library Services plans, directs and co-ordinates the administrative operations of the West Lincoln Public Library. The Manager of Library Services assumes responsibility for carrying out all policy directions from the Chief Executive Officer by supervising the day to day operations of the library branches, providing management and leadership direction to Public Service Assistants, Library Cleaners, and Library Volunteers, ensuring the provision of an outstanding library experience for customers within an environment of progress and innovation. Recommends policy and operational changes, budget allocations, selects library materials and promotes library service to potential users that fulfills the goals of the Library’s Strategic Plan. Acts as Deputy CEO and senior leader of West Lincoln Public Library with delegated powers of authority in the absence of the CEO.
EDUCATION: (Minimum)
Library & Information Technician Diploma
EXPERIENCE: (Minimum)
Minimum three (3) years progressive experience in public library service, including management and administration
Extensive experience delivering excellent customer service
