Position Summary
Are you newly graduated? Ready to launch your career in a dynamic, community-focused environment? Join the EGPL and be part of a growing team dedicated to innovation and service. Our newest branch is now open, featuring a modern makerspace, a recording studio, children’s area, and a new collection.
As an Intern, you’ll play a key role in supporting programs and outreach, assisting with events such as the Annual Used Book Sale and Ontario Public Library Week, and assisting customers of all ages.
This internship focuses on supporting both the Customer Service, Programs, and Makerspace teams. You’ll assist with core tasks such as delivering exceptional customer experiences, supporting digital marketing initiatives, and supporting programming and Makerspace offerings.

Some travel within the community is a component of this position. Weekends and evening shifts will be scheduled.
Qualifications
• Recent graduate with a Master of Library and Information Science degree or Library Technician College Diploma from an accredited library school, or equivalent education relevant to the library and information profession
• Enthusiastic and passionate about public libraries
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Experience or interest in providing customer service to people of all ages
• Experience or interest in working with innovative technologies such as 3D printing, Cricut vinyl cutters, and modern makerspace technologies an asset
• Experience or interest in marketing and promotions, including social media, an asset
• Experience or interest in developing and delivering programs for children and youth an asset
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to travel between library branches and outreach visits an asset
• To comply with the Young Canada Works Internship program, candidates must: -
• Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident status, or have refugee status in Canada (non-Canadian graduates holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent resident status are not eligible)
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada with a valid social insurance number
• Be between 16 and 30 years of age inclusively at the start of employment
• Be a graduate from college, CEGEP or university; and
• Be registered in the YCW online candidate inventory
Compensation
$26.50 per hour; 30.5-week contract
Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday; Saturdays and evenings may be required
Position Start Date: June 1, 2026
Position End Date: December 31, 2026
