Bowen Island Library is hiring a Summer Reading Club (SRC) Program Assistant to help plan, implement and facilitate our summer children’s programming.
About the Job
Working with the Children and Youth Services Coordinator, you will be the public face of the Summer Reading Club, introducing families to the library as a fun, welcoming place. You will create interactive in-library activities, co-host weekly children’s programs, gain valuable customer service experience and more!
Requirements
- Experience working with groups of children.
- Experience in public service.
- Grade 12 completion and/or post-secondary education
- Between the ages of 15 and 30 years and be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee (grant funding requirements)
Details
- This is a grant funded temporary position.
- The position begins in June and continues until late August 2026.
- 34 hours per week for 12 weeks. Hours will vary but are expected to be Tuesday to Saturday, between 9:45am and 6:15pm.
- Evening and weekend hours are required.
- Hourly pay rate $25.57
