Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Strategy & Innovation, the Manager, Community Impact & Insights leads the implementation of community impact strategies through marketing and outreach. The Manager integrates data from all service areas to generate insights that support and inform organizational decision-making.
The Manager, Community Impact & Insights leads a team across the organization who deliver community value. They are responsible for identifying future growth opportunities through community analysis and delivering programs in the community, and overseeing the development of marketing and promotional strategies designed to maximize organizational reach. The Manager is also responsible for managing day-to-day service operations at a library location.
Working Conditions:
Salary Range: $87,840 to 106,771 annually (2026 rate)
Status: Non-Affiliated, Temporary Full-Time Contract
Duration: November 16, 2026 up to January 28, 2028 (up to 15 months)
Schedule: 35 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as required

Position Responsibilities:
- Identify and implement high-impact community partnerships that catalyze social engagement and expand the reach of CLMA services
- Execute data-driven community analysis to recommend and implement future service directions and strategic growth opportunities
- In collaboration with the Director, Strategy & Innovation, develop and implement an annual marketing plan aligned with the CLMA’s strategic goals, including measurable objectives for outreach, engagement, and brand awareness
- Lead the creation of marketing content, including social media channels, program newsletters, press releases, content for website updates, signage, and digital displays
- Lead change management initiatives and foster an inclusive, high-performing workplace culture
- Participates in library facility management
- Develops and manages budgets for areas related to marketing and community engagement
- Represent CLMA at municipal and professional forums, preparing executive-level reports and presentations to inform decision-making
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, policies, and health and safety requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned in support of organizational objectives
Essential Qualifications:
- Master of Library Science degree
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a service-based organization with an emphasis on marketing and community development
- Demonstrated expertise in staff leadership and supervision in a unionized environment, and fostering effective communication
- Excellent knowledge in community engagement, program development and community-led library best practices
- An innovator with experience identifying and capitalizing on opportunities
- Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills with the ability to network and develop community partnerships
- Excellent organizational and time management skills. Able to manage shifting priorities in a busy environment with frequent interruptions and a proven ability to work to deadlines and set priorities
- Excellent English language oral, written, and presentation skills including the ability to teach and present to community groups. Knowledge of other languages are an asset
- Comfort with risk, failure, and ambiguity as well as the skills to mitigate risk
- Strong knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians Disability Act and the Occupation Health and Safety Act
- A satisfactory, Standard Criminal Record Check is required prior to commencement of employment
