Job Summary

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking an innovative, service-oriented, and technology-focused Electronic Services Librarian  to join our Library Services team. This position plays a key role in managing library technologies, electronic resources, web-based services, and instructional support while helping to ensure an exceptional user experience for students, faculty, and staff.

The successful candidate will combine strong library expertise with technical proficiency to lead the development and maintenance of library systems, electronic collections, and digital services. They will collaborate across the institution to support teaching, learning, research, and information access while contributing to the ongoing evolution of library services.  Duties will include:

  • Manage and maintain the library's integrated library system, electronic resources, and related technologies.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of the library website and other web-based library services.
  • Ensure seamless access to electronic resources, discovery tools, and digital collections for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Provide reference, research, and information literacy instruction in both in-person and online environments.
  • Develop learning materials, research guides, and other resources that support teaching and learning.
  • Support technical, clerical, and student employees.
  • Deliver staff training, contribute to library initiatives, and stay current with emerging technologies and best practices

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Library and Information Studies (MLIS/MLS) from an ALA-accredited institution or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of related experience, preferably in an academic library environment.
  • Experience with integrated library systems, electronic resources, and web-based technologies.
  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of web development, databases, and digital library services.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, provide outstanding client service, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Supervisory experience and experience delivering library instruction are considered assets.

Classification:

Librarian II as per the Memorandum of Agreement between Holland College and the PEI Union of Public Sector Employees – Administrative and Support.

Salary:$34.85 to $43.62
