Job Summary
Our Creative Making & Discovery team is responsible for the programs run in our HackLAB and MediaLAB spaces. If you are someone who enjoys teaching others about technology and leading others through the creation of creative design projects, this position is for you. You are a highly organized person with strong instructional skills and familiarity with working as part of a collaborative team. Learning new technologies is something you are very comfortable with and you are excited to expand your digital design skills with tools like Cricut, Laser Cutters, Sublimation Printers, 3D Printers, and more.
Our ideal candidate has a college diploma or university degree in a related field (e.g. library, education, design, technology, etc.), as well as experience with community programming and excellent technology skills. Knowledge of library programming trends including Makerspace equipment, robotics, coding and educational technologies is an asset.
While being a creative, ideas-person, your superior organizational skills ensure you are capable of balancing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Your commitment to the position requires flexibility to run programming at various times throughout the week, including evenings and weekends. A police records check with Vulnerable Sector screen and the ability to work at all three Library Branches is required.
