Job Summary
Job Summary: This position involves supervisory responsibility for the Morden Branch of the South Central Regional Library. A probationary review shall be done within 3 months of hiring.
- Hours – 35 hours/week (1820 per year) – Monday – Friday (9 am to 5 pm, no overtime)
- Wages/Salary - $25.50/hour – increase after successful 3-month probation period
- Benefits/ Sick Time – Vacation & Pension, Medical & Dental – as per SCRL policy
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Plans and schedules work within the Morden Branch, ensuring all shifts are covered with in allocated number of hours
- Supervises the work of clerks and volunteers, ensuring adherence to approved policies and procedures
- Prepares, promotes and/or supervises programs within the Branch
- Is responsible for collection acquisitions and maintenance
- Recommends changes in procedures to the Director
- Provides assistance to patrons in the use of the library and handles contentious issues as they arise
- Is responsible for the relay of information to Branch employees
- Shall consult with employees regarding collection development and request from patrons
- Performs other duties as may be required.
Supervision Received:
- Duties are performed under limited supervision, according to established policies and procedures.
Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Must have recognized Library Technician diploma or certificate with experience in a public library setting.
- Significant experience in human resource management is preferred
- Ability to deal effectively with the public and other staff members on a problem-solving basis.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally.
- Must be able to organize their time and meet deadlines.
Compensation
$46,410 annual salary
