Manager of Corporate Communications and Support Richmond , BC


Richmond Public Library is looking for a regular full-time exempt Manager of Corporate Communications and Support. This role functions as a key member of the exempt management team and is responsible for leadership, development and oversight of corporate communication strategies as well as providing executive support to the Chief Librarian and the library’s Board of Trustees. This position manages all aspects of corporate communication and executive support, is a key decision maker, is accountable for corporate communication strategies and ensuring that it is in alignment with strategic and operational initiatives.

Reporting directly to the Chief Librarian, directly supports the Board of Trustees and collaborates with other library management staff; City staff, including the Mayor and Councillor’s Office; media; vendors; contractors; suppliers; library customers and community groups.

Who should apply:

The successful candidate is a proven business team member who possesses:

  • A University degree with specialization in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related discipline with minimum 5 years proven leadership and/or management experience in the area of corporate communications, preferably in a unionized library, non-profit or public sector environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience supporting senior level executives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral, with proven experience in representing an organization in terms of corporate communications and corporate relations.

Salary range of $93,590 to $116,987 per annum plus comprehensive benefits package.
