POSITION:PROGRAMMING & OUTREACH LIBRARIAN (FULL-TIME)

DEPARTMENT:PROGRAMMING AND PROMOTIONS

JOB SUMMARY:

This position reports to the Manager of Programming & Promotion and is accountable for the development and delivery of branch and community programs and services. Functioning in a team environment, the Programming and Outreach Librarian will provide and support program planning and implementation, information and reference services, reader’s advisory and digital assistance. They will ensure the strategic goals of St Catharines Public Library are met through outreach initiatives and delivery of their portfolio assignments through training, coaching and supporting library staff delivering programs and outreach.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited library school.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in public library program planning and community engagement.
• Demonstrate experience with technology instruction to support a wide variety of devices and platforms.
• Experience in project management and outcome measurement is an asset.
• Experience providing library advocacy is an asset.

HOURS OF WORK:Weekdays, evenings, and weekends as required.

HOURLY RATE:$31.319 - $36.946 per hour (Pay Group 12, January 2021 FT schedule)

Temporary rating to be reviewed by the Joint Job Evaluation Committee
